Important Details About the Tree House
No Shoe Policy
In an effort to keep our facilities as dirt and grime-free as possible, we maintain a No Shoe Policy in our classrooms and our open gym spaces. All children and adults are required to remove shoes before entering classrooms or open gym spaces.
We respectfully request your cooperation as we expect that this policy will help to keep our Tree House kids healthier and happier!
Our Early Education facilitators and staff understand that children LOVE to put items in their mouths. Please feel comfortable knowing that our staff is trained to choose cleanable items for classroom use, and that classroom items are cleaned after every class with a bio-earth friendly, non-toxic cleaner.
Diaper changing stations are available for use in the lobby bathroom and the first bathroom in the classroom area.
The classrooms, Treehouse Play Area and gym all have hand sanitizer, tissues and hand wipes for your use.
Sick Child Policy
- If your child has a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher and/or flu-like symptoms, he/she must stay home.
- A child should only return to the Tree House after he/she has been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the aid of acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) and does not have any other flu-like symptoms.
- A child with no fever but with flu-like symptoms (cough, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, aches or chills) or a contagious cold or infection should stay home.
Class and Play Area Guidelines
A child’s loved one is the best model for how to participate in class. Along with the instructor, adult participation makes the class experience engaging and more fun for everyone. When you are involved and having fun, your child will follow your lead.
Your child may move freely during class, but please make sure they are engaging in safe behavior as they explore the classroom. In the gym and Treehouse Play Area, please make sure your child is supervised by an adult at all times.
For Better Together and On My Own classes, unsafe behaviors (such as biting or hitting) which cannot be reliably managed in developmentally-appropriate ways with guidance from a Wellesley Treehouse instructor and assistance from the caregiver may be cause for withdrawal from the class in order to maintain a safe environment for all. Should there be an incident during an On My Own class, parents of the children involved will be notified.
For everyone’s safety, please make sure infant siblings in a carrier are within arms reach and away from the movement of toddlers taking class.
In an effort to keep our facility clean and safe, we ask that all snacks and drinks be kept to the lobby area. This includes beverages such as coffee, tea, etc. as well.
Please avoid cell phone use during class and gym time, except for taking pictures.
Nut Free Policy
The Wellesley Tree House is a nut free facility. For the safety of all students and staff, all food served is peanut free and tree nut free. We strive to be a peanut and tree nut free environment at all times. We monitor what foods are brought to the Tree House and with the help of our Diligent staff and cooperating parents, we can achieve a peanut and tree nut free environment. Thank you for your support and cooperation!
We ask that all Tree House families please respect this safety concern. Please be certain not to come to the Tree House with any foods that "may contain" peanuts or tree nuts or that are "processed in a facility with" peanuts or tree nuts or that have similar labeling.
